Mantingan Mosque in Jepara is one of the oldest mosques in Indonesia. It was constructed with remarkable ornamental decorations, notably the panels installed on the walls surrounding the tomb and mosque area. These panels possess high artistic value, inspiring Jepara batik artisans to create batik motifs through the stylization of these panel designs. This research, titled Stylization of Jepara Batik Motifs Derived from the Panels of Mantingan Mosque, Jepara, aims to: (1) Describe the panels of Mantingan Mosque that serve as inspiration in the creation of batik motifs; (2) Analyze the stylization process used to transform the mosques ornaments into batik motifs; and (3) Elaborate on the aesthetic and symbolic meanings of the resulting batik motifs, as well as their role in the preservation of local culture. The study employs a historical research method consisting of four stages: (1) Heuristics, the stage of collecting historical sources; (2) Verification (Criticism), the stage of assessing the authenticity and credibility of historical data sources; (3) Interpretation, the stage of organizing historical facts based on verification; and (4) Historiography, the stage of writing the historical narrative. The findings of this research are: (1) Mantingan Mosque, built by Queen Kalinyamat, contains panels of high artistic value. In addition to serving as decorative elements, these panels convey values and teachings about life. (2) Jepara batik artisans analyzed the panels of Mantingan Mosque and stylized their elements to create decorative patterns and batik motifs. They also discussed efforts toward cultural preservation and identified both the driving and inhibiting factors in producing these batik motifs. (3) Each batik motif produced by the artisans carries specific meanings embedded in its decorative forms, conveying philosophical messages about life teachings.
