Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Guideline to write Title, Name, and Author Address

On the first page of the manuscript, the title should be centered at the top and the author's name and affiliation should also be centered below the title. There should be two spaces between the title and the author's name. The author's email should be two spaces below the abstract title. Keywords should be listed under the abstract, separated by semicolons, and limited to three to six words.

For manuscripts with multiple authors, the corresponding author's name should be listed first followed by the other authors' names separated by commas. Only the first author will receive communication regarding revisions and final statements. If an author's name consists of two words, both names should be written in full without abbreviations. If an author's name is one word, it should be written clearly, but in the online version it will be repeated for metadata indexing purposes.

Manuscript general guidelines

  • The manuscript represents genuine research findings that have not been published in any other media or publishing houses before.
  • The manuscript is free from any form of plagiarism, and the editorial board will promptly reject any submissions that demonstrate such misconduct.
  • To submit a manuscript in MS Word format that has been written under the guidance of the Journal of Society Community and Business Development (SCBD), authors must use the Online Submission System available on the SCBD website at https://ejournal.ump.ac.id/index.php/scbd. Authors can select one of the available procedures and then register as an author in the "Register" section.

  • Any manuscripts that do not conform to the guidelines for writing SCBD: Journal of Society Community and Business Development ( SCBD ) it will be sent back to the author before the review process commences.
  • The manuscript must include various components of a scientific article, arranged in the following order: (a) the article title, (b) author name (without academic title), (c) author's affiliation address, (d) author's email, (e) abstract and keywords, (f) introduction, (g) research methodology, (h) research findings and discussion, (i) conclusion, and (j) references.
  • In the discussion section, subtitles such as Introduction, Research Methods, Result and Discussion, and Conclusion should not be numbered. Instead, they should be written in bold and title case format, using left text alignment without underlining. Any subsequent subheadings should be in bold and sentence case format and should use the left text alignment with numbering at level two.
  • The manuscript can be composed in English, using standard language. It should have a length of ten (10) to twenty (20) pages, including any pictures and tables. The manuscript text should be formatted according to the article template, in camera ready mode. The article must be written on A4-sized paper (210x297 mm) with specific margins: 3 cm on the top and left, and 2 cm on the bottom and right.
  • The text of the articles must be in Cambria, 11pt font size, 15.5 line-spacing, separated into two columns (except for the main title, the author’s name, and the abstract) with the space between columns 10 mm.
  • Uncommon or foreign language words should be italicized.The first line of each paragraph should be indented by 10 mm from the left side border, and there should be no space between paragraphs. All numbers should be written in Arabic numerals, except for the beginning of a new sentence.
  • Images that are included should be of good quality, with clear visibility of the font size, resolution, and line spacing. Tables, charts, and pictures should be centered between blocks of text. If the image is larger, it can be placed in the center of the page.

Guidelines for Writing Manuscript Body Text

Title: The title of the article should be brief, clear, and unambiguous, conveying the precise topic to be discussed. It should be written in capital letters and centered symmetrically, without any unusual abbreviations. The title should begin with the main idea, followed by an explanation, and should not exceed 12 words. The font used should be Cambria, with a size of 14 and bold formatting in the middle of the text.

Author Identity: The author's name appears without a title. [Cambria, 10pt], followed by the institution's name and the author's email. Author 1, author 2, and so on. [10pt, Cambria]

Abstract: The manuscript should be written in English and should include an introductory summary that covers the background and objectives, implementation method, results and discussion, and conclusions and suggestions. The abstract should not exceed 150 words and must be written in one paragraph with italic formatting using [Cambria, 10pt] font.

Keywords: Consists of at least 3 keywords and a maximum of 6 keywords, each of which is separated by a comma (,), and italicized. [Cambria, 10]

Introduction: The introductory section provides an integrated description of the community's (partner's) problems, challenges, or needs, which serve as a background or motivation for carrying out community service activities. This section also includes the objectives and results of the literature review. It is presented in a paragraph format. [Font: Cambria, Size: 11]

Implementation Method: This section describes the stages or steps involved in addressing the problems faced by the community (partner) or providing solutions to them. It includes the language used, tools, data analysis, and evaluation methods. It is presented in a paragraph format. [Font: Cambria, Size: 11]

Results and Discussion: This section presents the findings and topics covered in the manuscript. Each result should be supported by adequate data and discussed thoroughly. The discussion should provide answers to the questions raised in the introduction and can be complemented with tables, graphs, and charts. [Font: Cambria, Size: 11]

Conclusion: The conclusion section summarizes the achievements and goals and provides suggestions for future actions. It should not merely reiterate the results and discussion but should provide a concise summary of the expected results. The suggestions should present a follow-up plan based on the author's ideas. It is presented in a paragraph format. [Font: Cambria, Size: 11]

References: This section lists all the primary sources (scientific journals and/or book sources) used in the manuscript. All references used should be from sources published within the last ten years and follow the APA fifth edition standard. The article should have at least ten references. [Font: Cambria, Size: 11]
